Position Overview:
The Structural Engineering Manager will oversee the structures discipline in Southern California. In this role, you will guide a team of engineers in the design, review, and acquisition of new structural projects. This pivotal leadership role at RailPros will collaborate with project managers and technical discipline leaders.

Your main responsibilities include leading structural initiatives, providing technical guidance, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring compliance with the RailPros Quality Program.

You will be responsible for effective management of your discipline, identifying and cultivating business prospects, attending relevant regional industry events and conferences, coordinating resource requirements, forecasting staffing needs, mentoring employees, and identifying training opportunities to promote continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide robust leadership and effective management of the structural engineering discipline.
• Foster strong client relationships and promote effective collaboration among staff and departments.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and lead proposal efforts for structural projects.
• Oversee and execute structural project work.
• Implement the Quality Program within the structures discipline.
• Assess project resource needs and ensure appropriate talent allocation.
• Forecast staffing requirements and manage the hiring process.
• Mentor staff and provide career development opportunities.
• Encourage employee engagement and maintain a positive work environment.
• Facilitate training opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
• Recommend raises and bonuses for team members.
• Perform other duties as necessary to meet business objectives.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Proficient in electronic communication, including email and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Capable of conducting presentations and participating in media engagements.
• Represent the organization at significant functions or conferences.
Required Education and Experience:
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
• A minimum of 10 years of prior structural engineering experience is required.
• At least 3 years of experience in railroad and transit structures design, including accelerated bridge construction.
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and guidelines.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Master’s Degree or equivalent is preferred.
• Commitment to lifelong learning to stay informed on contemporary issues.
• Ability to obtain a Structural Engineer (SE) license.
