Position Overview


Northern Impact, a leading multidisciplinary design firm, is on the lookout for a skilled and collaborative Structural Seismic Engineer to enhance our team.

In this role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in nonlinear analysis and design, alongside strong programming capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and design a variety of structural systems.
  • Model and assess nonlinear reinforced concrete and steel structures.
  • Conduct performance-based seismic design evaluations.
  • Process large datasets and communicate findings effectively.
  • Utilize programming skills and digital tools to create automated workflows for structural analysis, design, and optimization.
  • Develop custom applications for analysis and design purposes.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of seismic analysis and design principles.
  • Familiarity with nonlinear modeling techniques and static/dynamic analysis.
  • 1-7 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and design standards.
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, and Perform 3D.
  • Proficiency in Rhino & Grasshopper, Revit, and their respective APIs is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform database queries is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud technologies like Azure or AWS is beneficial.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on quality.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • High motivation and a proactive approach to new challenges.
  • A collaborative mindset, capable of working in a team environment to identify optimal solutions for each project.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across the firm to address structural engineering needs.
