Position Summary
Project Structural Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Project Structural Engineer to join our team in the Encino office. In this role, you will be responsible for producing structural engineering calculations and detailed drawings across a diverse range of projects and materials. You will collaborate closely with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure the effective delivery of structural engineering documentation. Additionally, you will engage with local building authorities to facilitate the acquisition of necessary permits. This position offers the opportunity to expand our project portfolio in the Encino area while benefiting from mentorship and guidance from our leadership team, with potential pathways to management roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive engineering design for gravity and lateral systems utilizing concrete, steel, timber, and masonry materials.
- Engage directly with clients and regulatory officials to ensure project compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of design development and construction documentation.
- Utilize commercial software to create and analyze 3D structural models.
- Keep senior management informed of significant design decisions and progress towards client objectives.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the firm's technical standards and knowledge base.
- Be open to travel up to 10% to support structural engineering projects.
- Possess a valid driver's license for travel purposes.
- Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in structural engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
- Proficiency in software such as RISA 3D, Microsoft Excel, SAFE, ETABS, Bluebeam, Ram Structural Systems, and Enercalc is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools, particularly REVIT Structural, is essential.
