Psychiatrist for Partial Hospitalization and Outpatient Care

Job Overview:

Allina Health is seeking a dedicated psychiatrist to join our esteemed Mental Health and Addiction Service Line, which provides a comprehensive range of psychiatric care. Our services include integrated outpatient care, addiction treatment, co-occurring services, partial hospitalization, and inpatient care.

Position Highlights:
  • This role encompasses both the adult partial hospitalization program and outpatient psychiatric services.
  • The partial hospitalization program facilitates close collaboration with patients and their families, with sessions occurring three times a week over a span of approximately three weeks, including family involvement.
  • Manage a patient caseload ranging from 8 to 16, contingent on program size and provider full-time equivalent (FTE).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients to determine their suitability for various levels of care and specific programs.
  • Deliver direct clinical psychiatric care, including brief assessments and interventions.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team, patients, and families to create behaviorally-focused, outcomes-driven treatment plans that address mental health needs, functional impairments, and medical disorders.
  • Work alongside the program RN to address comorbid medical issues within our patient population.
  • Actively engage in a multidisciplinary approach to case management.
  • Provide care in various settings, including ambulatory clinics and hospital environments.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required.
  • Lead educational initiatives for staff regarding psychiatric matters.

Qualifications:
  • MD, DO, or equivalent international training is required.
  • Board eligible/certified with ABMS or AOA.
  • Possess an active, unrestricted medical license in Minnesota or the ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to secure and maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Meet criteria for credentialing and hospital privileges as applicable.

Physical Requirements:

Light work, including occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs and frequent lifting of up to 10 lbs.
