Job Summary

Catholic Charities Diocese of San Diego is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to oversee the Foster Grandparent / Senior Companion Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the program, including planning, implementing, and evaluating its comprehensive initiatives and strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Develop and implement program-specific policy and procedure manuals, ensure conformity, consistency, and accountability of service delivery within and across programs of the department.
  • Community Engagement: Represent agencies and departments in the community with other organizations on matters pertaining to low-income seniors and special needs children, participate in various external meetings associated with the programs.
  • Volunteer Management: Plan, manage, and supervise the annual recognition luncheon, Christmas luncheon, and other gatherings for the volunteers, ensure that volunteers submit appropriate paperwork and receive payment in a timely manner.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Compile and submit weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required by programs and agency, ensure that all regulatory requirements are met for all programs funded by federal, state, and/or county funds.
  • Grant Writing and Fundraising: Research, investigate, apply, and/or provide support to management for grants to fund the programs, responsible and/or providing support to management for fundraising, including grant requests, letter writing, and presentations to the public.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college with a degree in Gerontology, Social Service, or related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, policies, and procedures, or governmental regulations, ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Language: Desired: Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).
Working Conditions

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
