Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the installation and maintenance of software and hardware for electronic security systems autonomously.
  • Perform system and network programming as necessary.
  • Identify and resolve issues with malfunctioning equipment or wiring, adjust devices, repair or replace faulty components, and verify proper functionality.
  • Act as a reliable liaison between Johnson Controls International and clients, ensuring effective communication while upholding a high standard of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
  • Facilitate testing and final approval of systems/applications in collaboration with clients, law enforcement, fire departments, or other relevant entities as needed.
  • Guarantee the appropriate application of systems products to fulfill client specifications.
  • Oversee the engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance, and support of data/video communication networks, including wireless and IP solutions.
  • Develop and deliver training and technical support resources for users with varying levels of IT, Security, and Fire expertise.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of security, fire, and network configurations, diagrams, and programming records. Produce detailed documentation for security, fire, and networked server setups, including physical layouts, logical diagrams, IP address schemes, and asset management databases.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • High School Diploma is mandatory.
  • A range of certifications from various Security, Fire, and communication manufacturers.
  • Demonstrated capability or experience in designing, installing, inspecting, and repairing integrated systems/applications.
  • Preferred familiarity with Software House, Genetec, Milestone, Lenel, Kantech, and other Enterprise Level Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion, Nurse Call, and RTLS systems.
  • Proficient in wireless and LAN/WAN networks.
  • Solid understanding of network servers, switches, routers, IOS software, and diagnostics.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, subcontractors, and resources effectively.
  • Client/Server diagnostic support skills to comprehend application communication within LAN/WAN/MAN networks and over the Internet.
  • Good grasp of IP Backbone Architecture and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to engage effectively with internal teams and client representatives, fostering teamwork at all levels.
  • High level of proficiency with PC applications.
  • Advanced knowledge in designing, installing, inspecting, and repairing integrated systems/applications is essential.
  • Capacity to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to interpret and read blueprints, building plans, electrical schematics, and sprinkler/fire plans for equipment installations, repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.
  • Willingness to be on-call, available after hours for off-site software and hardware support, and if necessary, on-site assistance to address system failures, including occasional travel for client engagements and training.
