Position Overview:

This role entails providing continuous security and emergency response at the assigned location, ensuring adherence to protocols, responding effectively to incidents, and fulfilling designated shift responsibilities.

The Safety and Security Specialist must demonstrate the ability to follow instructions, work autonomously, and manage emergencies with efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to safety and emergency situations, taking charge of the scene and offering necessary assistance, medical care, or guidance to individuals present.
  • Monitor premises through CCTV systems or by patrolling the property, securing entry points, operating various computer systems and communication tools, preparing documentation, writing reports, maintaining records, inspecting facilities for vandalism, suspicious activities, or individuals, and identifying safety and fire risks.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees, contractors, visitors, and other departments within Corporate Security & Business Resilience regarding safety and security matters.
  • Manage visitor information and ensure compliance with security protocols for facility access. Conduct escorts for employees, contractors, vendors, and guests.
  • Assist in or conduct regular evaluations of security and life safety equipment and systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in accordance with shift responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in customer service, security, or military roles.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

The candidate should possess the ability to rapidly learn complex systems and security protocols, operate a PC while navigating multiple software applications in a Windows environment, and communicate effectively via telephone simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, is preferred.

Interpersonal Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail are essential. The ability to engage with diverse audiences and manage multiple tasks while maintaining high-quality work amidst frequent interruptions is crucial.

Certification Requirements:
Must obtain and maintain Central Station Alarm Association Central Station Operator I certification within the first year of employment.

Additionally, the candidate must complete and maintain First Aid, CPR, AED, and other advanced training certifications, with the capability to perform CPR for a minimum of 30 minutes, ascend three flights of stairs, climb a 6' - 8' ladder, and endure extended periods of walking or sitting, occasionally lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 35 pounds.

Work Schedule:
Willingness to work a schedule that aligns with business needs, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Shifts and workdays may vary, with full-time employees averaging 40-50 hours per week.
