Position OverviewIntroduction

General Security Services Corporation (GSSC) is actively seeking to recruit dedicated Full and Part Time Security Patrol Specialists. With a legacy of commitment to community safety, GSSC has been a trusted name in security since its inception.

As a Security Patrol Specialist, you will undergo comprehensive training to prepare you for various security patrol roles, including armed and unarmed assignments, alarm response, and security enforcement.

Training and Development:

Our paid training program encompasses essential skills such as defensive tactics, use of ASP (police baton), OC spray deployment, handcuffing techniques, firearms training, tactical shooting, and defensive driving.

Work Schedule:

Shifts are available Tuesday - Wednesday from 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM and Thursday - Saturday from 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver security services to ensure a visible security presence, which includes operating a vehicle for patrol, inspections, and incident responses.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, hazards, security breaches, and unauthorized individuals.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of facilities, grounds, and access points.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and urgent situations.
  • Perform facility inspections as required by client agreements.
  • Carry out parking lot patrols as needed.
  • Provide escorts as requested by clients.
  • Notify relevant personnel of emergencies and issues at client sites.
  • Assist fellow Security Officers during emergencies and challenges.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and team members.
  • Engage with clients and employees during inspections.
  • Support client staff as necessary.
  • Document inspections and incidents in a timely and organized manner.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of patrol services in alignment with agreements and mission objectives.
  • Establish and maintain open communication with patrol team members.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations relevant to each assignment.
  • Follow all GSSC personnel policies and client contract specifications.
  • Assist with transportation services as required.
  • Manage equipment inventories and ensure serviceability.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of State & Federal background checks and drug screening.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Completion of GSSC Basic Training is mandatory.
  • One year of relevant Security experience is preferred (Military, Law Enforcement, Corrections, or Security related).
  • Ability to meet state, county, and municipal licensing requirements.
  • Strong communication, administrative, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking abilities are essential.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.

  • Clear vision, hearing, speaking, and writing abilities.
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, potentially for extended periods, including climbing stairs and traversing uneven terrain.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Capability to assist individuals to safety in hazardous situations.
  • Work may involve both indoor and outdoor activities, subject to seasonal temperature changes.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely for extended periods.
  • Must meet ongoing state, county, and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
