Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Billing and Collections Coordinator is responsible for managing insurance claims and related documentation, acting as a vital link between the organization and external payers to ensure efficient processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensures the confidentiality of patient and organizational information;
  2. Records payments from Medicaid, Medicare, Private Insurance, and Private Pay sources;
  3. Engages with patients regarding inquiries related to insurance or billing;
  4. Enters data for claims associated with hospitalized patients;
  5. Coordinates with both internal and external medical entities to resolve claims issues;
  6. Amends and resubmits claims that have been denied;
  7. Supplies information for internal and corporate reporting purposes.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or GED is mandatory;
  2. A minimum of two years of experience in handling third-party claims is highly desirable;
  3. Basic computer proficiency is required;
  4. Familiarity with office equipment such as computers, calculators, and telephones is preferred.
