Position Summary:

As the Production Shop Supervisor, you will oversee all facets of production operations while actively participating in hands-on manufacturing activities. This role demands strong leadership capabilities to manage a small team of production personnel, alongside technical skills to execute various manufacturing tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Production Oversight:**

• Organize and coordinate daily production tasks to achieve targets and fulfill customer needs.

• Delegate responsibilities to production staff and offer guidance to ensure efficient workflow.

• Evaluate production processes and implement enhancements to boost efficiency and quality.

2. **Hands-On Manufacturing:**

• Execute a range of manufacturing tasks, including welding, machining, assembly, and finishing, as required to meet production goals.

• Safely and effectively use hand and power tools, machinery, and equipment to produce superior products.

• Collaborate with production staff to demonstrate techniques and provide necessary training.

3. **Team Leadership:**

• Set a positive example and cultivate a work environment that encourages teamwork and respect.

• Mentor production staff, promoting skill enhancement and continuous improvement.

• Conduct regular performance assessments and address any issues constructively.

4. **Quality Control:**

• Establish and uphold quality assurance measures to ensure products meet or exceed standards.

• Perform inspections and quality checks throughout the production cycle to identify and rectify defects.

• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement corrective actions and preventive strategies.

5. **Safety Management:**

• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a secure working environment.

• Facilitate safety training sessions and promote awareness of safe practices among staff.

• Investigate and resolve any safety incidents promptly and effectively.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing setting, with skills in welding, machining, assembly, and fabrication techniques.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, capable of motivating a small team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
