Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach for Women's Lacrosse will have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Identify and attract talented prospective student-athletes in accordance with the program's recruiting strategy and relevant NCAA, MIAC, and Augsburg standards.
  • Conduct practice sessions, analyze game footage, and facilitate team meetings.
  • Instruct student-athletes on physical health, team dynamics, safety protocols, and sport-specific skills on both individual and team levels.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes on essential life skills.
  • Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring compliance with athletic department standards and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Maintain acceptable retention rates for student-athletes within the team and institution.

Additional Duties:
Other responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with budget oversight, fundraising initiatives, travel arrangements, and program organization.
  • Facilitating communication and engagement with alumni and parents, including organizing relevant events.
  • Coordinating and participating in community service activities.
  • Supporting camps and clinics.
  • Supervising student workers, if applicable.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Fellowship Terms:
The selected fellow must be accepted into an Augsburg graduate program and maintain enrollment in a minimum of two courses per term (6 credits). The fellowship duration is two years. Should the fellow leave the position before the term concludes or fail to maintain satisfactory academic performance, they will be responsible for all tuition costs and benefits. The fellow will receive full tuition coverage along with an annual stipend of $6,000.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants should possess at least three years of playing or coaching experience, with recruiting experience preferred. A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the MIAC Code of Ethics and adherence to MIAC and NCAA Division III guidelines is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate integrity, leadership, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to foster relationships across campus.
