Scholar Coach

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Scholar Coach. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in empowering children to become confident and proficient readers.

• Provide one-on-one or paired guidance to kindergarten through third-grade students to enhance their reading skills.
• Track student progress and regularly meet with the school's on-site coach to discuss student growth and development.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Commit to your own growth as a tutor through coaching, training, and professional development to ensure you are equipped to provide the best possible support to students.
• Represent our organization at school events and share your experience with the community to raise awareness about the importance of literacy and education.

• Be a caring adult who is focused on helping students build their skills and confidence.
• Have a history of good attendance and be dependable.
• Be able to understand and follow instructions, and be open to making improvements based on feedback.
• Be capable of setting a pace and maintaining a schedule with students.
• Be competent with basic computer skills, including email and navigating online platforms.
• Be fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Be able to successfully complete a background check.

• Receive a stipend every two weeks, with varying amounts based on the number of hours committed per week.
• Have access to individual health insurance, with the monthly premium 100% covered for those committing 35 hours or more per week.
• Be eligible for child care assistance, based on family size and income, for those committing 35 hours or more per week.
