The Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin is a statewide non-profit organization committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and related disabilities, along with their families, through advocacy, education, resources, and community engagement.

Position Overview

We are currently looking for a Program Manager for Community Engagement in South Central Wisconsin. This role will be responsible for ensuring consistency, compliance, and quality across our Community Programs Department in the region. The Program Manager will enhance our site-based, Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) programming by providing local oversight and coordination, along with delivering direct services.

The Program Manager will play a vital role in overseeing program fidelity, marketing initiatives to families and community partners, expanding our community programming presence, and managing waitlists. This position entails being the senior manager responsible for the recruitment, hiring, direct supervision, and ongoing training of community program staff in South Central Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management

  • Ensure uniformity and compliance within the Community Programs Department.
  • Lead the recruitment, supervision, and training of program staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Oversee service delivery through regular check-ins and family engagement.

Regional Development

  • Maintain fiscal sustainability across current and future sites.
  • Balance staffing requirements with billing and budget management.
  • Collaborate with leadership to achieve regional goals.
  • Promote services through outreach and community engagement.

Participant Management

  • Conduct initial consultations and assessments for new participants.
  • Facilitate goal-setting processes for participants.
  • Maintain oversight of case management systems and participant records.
  • Provide regular updates and support to participants and their families.

Direct Service Delivery

  • Provide direct instruction and support at various sites as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement effective programming.
  • Advocate for participants and teach advocacy skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience in program development is highly desirable.
  • Supervisory experience is essential.
  • Valid driver's license and insured vehicle required.
  • Must pass a caregiver background check as per state requirements.

  • Effective communication skills with participants and families.
