Role Summary

As a Community Engagement Organizer, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate local grassroots teams that engage in direct voter outreach, volunteer recruitment, and retention strategies. You will implement a comprehensive field program aimed at electing Democratic candidates across various positions by establishing and maintaining the essential volunteer infrastructure needed for electoral success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advance the election of Democratic candidates at all levels.
  • Develop and nurture local grassroots volunteer teams to facilitate direct voter engagement and volunteer retention.
  • Establish a strong, inclusive progressive presence within your designated communities.
  • Execute grassroots organizing strategies, including managing effective activities such as canvassing and phone banking.
  • Foster relationships with local stakeholders, including party leaders, grassroots organizations, and activist groups.
  • Build the local volunteer framework necessary for successful electoral outcomes.
  • Implement statewide organizing and outreach initiatives.
  • Achieve or surpass metrics related to volunteer recruitment, retention, and direct voter contact.
  • Act as a representative of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, adhering to neutrality as required.

  • Passion for advocating Democratic values and supporting candidates.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to connect, motivate, and build trust with diverse groups.
  • Growth mindset, open to feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Goal-oriented, capable of maintaining composure under pressure, and willing to work extended hours during peak periods.
  • Cultural competency, with the ability to establish authentic relationships across diverse identities.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and travel frequently.
Qualifications (Preferred):
  • Previous experience in organizing is advantageous but not mandatory.
