Job Description

VIRSIG is seeking a highly skilled Federal Account Executive to lead business development and sales activities in the Veterans Affairs market nationwide. This role requires a deep understanding of the VA market, including budgetary drivers, business objectives, and operational issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a sound business plan, creating and monitoring lead generation plans, and providing input beyond their own territory as a subject matter expert.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a business plan to achieve VIRSIG sales goals and profitability
  • Provide input beyond one's own territory as a FED/VA subject matter expert
  • Create and monitor lead generation plans to ensure a significant and measurable sales pipeline
  • Solution design, take-offs of project drawings, and a strong understanding of electronic security system designs, deployment, and integration
  • Capture the attention of potential customers and present new solutions and service offerings
  • Conduct research and analysis of market/project opportunities consistent with FED/VA strategy, leveraging available market research analytical tools
  • Develop strategies and tactics for successful and scalable business development initiatives
  • Ensure customers are informed of new product/service introductions and prices
  • Work with the VP of Business Development to develop mutually attainable sales goals
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Management to discuss market conditions, pricing issues, competitive trends, and industry relevance
  • Prepare proposals/presentations
  • Diagnose and respond timely to client needs with written and verbal follow-up
  • Attend trade shows and industry conferences for educational and customer-oriented purposes
  • Review and respond to public and private RFPs and bid solicitations
  • Attend pre-bid conferences and client meetings as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in business, engineering, or related field; equivalent relevant experience accepted
  • 5-7 years of proven sales experience, including 3 years of Department of Veterans Affairs specific business development activities
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the electronic security industry
  • Exceptional administrative skills
  • Organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and directed; independent worker; effectively able to prioritize and multitask
  • Proficient in MS Office; ConnectWise experience preferred
  • Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license
