Distribution Center Manager

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Center Manager to oversee the operations of our distribution center, focusing on the distribution of pharmaceutical products, including controlled substances, temperature-sensitive medicines, and medical devices. The Distribution Center Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulatory requirements, including FDA and DEA regulations, while maintaining efficient and accurate distribution processes.
Key Responsibilities- Warehouse Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of prescription medications, including controlled substances, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy and efficiency.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws regarding the handling, storage, and distribution of pharmaceutical products, including DEA regulations for controlled substances. Implement and maintain protocols for secure handling and accurate record-keeping.
- Controlled Substances Oversight: Manage the secure storage and distribution of controlled substances, ensuring proper inventory control and compliance with DEA regulations and standards. Maintain accurate records of all controlled substance transactions and ensure appropriate security measures are in place.
- Supervision and Performance Management: Lead, manage, and mentor the distribution center team, including handling recruitment, onboarding, and performance management. Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching and corrective action as needed to ensure adherence to operational procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Business Development Support: Ensure efficient and timely order fulfillment to support customer satisfaction and retention. Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained to align warehouse operations with business objectives.
- Order Fulfillment: Oversee the accurate and timely fulfillment of all orders for prescription medications, ensuring that all pharmaceuticals are handled and shipped in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Inventory Management: Maintain and monitor inventory levels for prescription medications, including conducting regular cycle counts and audits of controlled substances. Ensure inventory records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations, streamline processes, and enhance accuracy. Implement industry best practices to maintain operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Safety and Security: Develop and enforce safety protocols for the handling and storage of all prescription medications, particularly controlled substances. Ensure the physical security of the distribution center and implement strict access controls.
- Audits and Reporting: Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, including DEA audits. Ensure all documentation, records, and reporting are compliant with regulatory standards.
- Safety: Ensure compliance with FDA, DEA, OSHA, and all relevant local, state, and federal regulations related to safe work places. Conduct regular safety inspections, implement training programs, and develop emergency response plans to maintain a safe working environment.
- Process Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Utilize technology and automation to streamline operations and promote a culture of innovation.
- Collaboration: Execution of duties will require the close collaboration with other departments, including business development, logistics, inventory management, legal, compliance, and operations.
- Confidentiality and Discretion: As part of this role, the Distribution Center Manager will have access to proprietary, non-public commercial information, including sensitive product data and trade secrets. This position requires the utmost confidentiality and discretion in handling such information, ensuring that all confidential business information is safeguarded in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
