Position Overview:

Pathways Health and Community Support, LLC is in search of a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Recovery Support Specialist II. This position is focused on fostering recovery-oriented practices for individuals facing mental health challenges. The Recovery Support Program is a unique initiative led by peers who have navigated their own recovery journeys, providing invaluable support to others.


Role Summary:

Recovery Support Specialists are individuals with personal experience in mental health recovery or those who have supported a loved one through similar challenges. They embody diverse backgrounds, reflecting various cultures, identities, and experiences.

These specialists share their personal recovery narratives to inspire hope and demonstrate that recovery is achievable, fostering a sense of connection and understanding with clients.

They deliver tailored support services within the community, empowering clients to take charge of their recovery journey.


Compensation:

$20-$21 per hour


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate effectively with team members under the guidance of the team leader, with specific responsibilities tailored to individual qualifications.
  • Provide essential support services, including transportation, utilizing personal vehicles as needed.
  • Engage in mentoring and problem-solving activities, offering encouragement in various settings.
  • Maintain timely communication with clients to address inquiries and enhance overall wellness.
  • Deliver practical assistance, advocacy, and individualized support to help clients secure essential resources.
  • Organize social activities and facilitate group sessions as directed by senior staff.
  • Build strong relationships with community organizations to advocate for client empowerment.
  • Document all interactions and maintain compliance with HIPAA and ethical standards.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support program objectives.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Personal experience as a consumer of mental health services is essential.
  • Prior experience in behavioral health is advantageous.
  • Valid California driver’s license and auto insurance are required.
  • Medi-Cal Peer Certification is preferred, with training provided upon hire.
  • At least one year of experience in a peer support role is desirable.
  • Familiarity with self-help principles and the recovery model is crucial.
  • Ability to cultivate professional relationships with community resources.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary.

Physical Requirements:
  • Office-based role requiring prolonged sitting, with occasional standing and walking.
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 20 pounds.
  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment is necessary.
  • Effective communication skills are essential for reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Travel within the community is required for meetings and client support.
