Building Materials Sales Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Building Materials Sales Support specialist to provide vital support to our sales team and ensure our customers receive the highest quality service. In this role, you will work closely with our sales team to assist customers in selecting building materials and products based on their project needs. You will also provide detailed information on product specifications, pricing, and availability, as well as process sales orders accurately and efficiently.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers in selecting building materials and products based on their project needs.
  • Provide detailed information on product specifications, pricing, and availability.
  • Process sales orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Offer support to the sales team by preparing quotes, samples, and product information for client meetings.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to ensure adequate stock for high-demand materials.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints promptly, providing effective solutions and excellent customer service.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, new products, and advancements in building materials.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to obtain product information and negotiate pricing when necessary.
  • Ability to learn product knowledge to assist the customer in buying decisions.
  • Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, to coworkers and customers.

Better Living is a family-owned business that has been in business since 1893. It has grown into 2 Building Materials Retail locations, a Cabinet Sales & Design Center, and a Mill Shop that produces and sells custom millwork, stairs, and doors. Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Related sales experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of building materials and construction industry is preferred but can be trained.
  • Willingness to learn computer software as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the team and management.
  • Able to problem-solve, multitask, and prioritize as needed.
