Job Summary:

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Technical Support Specialist, you will provide technical assistance and support to end-users, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, and perform various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users via phone, email, or in-person
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, including installing, configuring, and testing hardware and software
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and updating software
  • Assist with the installation and setup of new hardware and software
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on the use of computer systems and software
  • Perform other related duties as necessary

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in technical support or related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with computer hardware and software troubleshooting and repair
  • Knowledge of network protocols and operating systems
  • Experience with help desk software and ticketing systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions:

The Technical Support Specialist will work in a fast-paced office environment, providing technical support to end-users. The position requires the ability to sit and stand for extended periods, lift and move heavy equipment, and work in a team environment.
