Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgery Scheduling Supervisor to join our team at The Center for Orthopedic and Research Excellence. As a key member of our clinical operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating schedules, communicating with patients and physicians, and ensuring seamless execution of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule Coordination: Coordinate schedules of multiple resources, including outside facilities, to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Patient Communication: Communicate with patients regarding pre-certification, authorization, financial counseling, and scheduling process to ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Financial Management: Collect patients' responsibility via telephone or instruct patients to bring required payment to their Pre-op appointment.
  • Authorization and Scheduling: Initiate authorization for surgery promptly and obtain authorization for surgery at least 48 hours after the procedure.
  • Team Supervision: Provide supervision of employees in the department, provide clinical and technical direction and guidance to team members, and assist in relations between CORE and the hospital staff.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in the implementation of department process improvements to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of surgery scheduling or related experience.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and the public and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who have prior supervisory experience.
