Role Summary: As a Software Architect within the Azure Networking team, you will be pivotal in the architecture and design of essential services. Your role will involve innovating to tackle intricate challenges, crafting sustainable architectures, and influencing stakeholders to bring these solutions to fruition. You will articulate a vision, steer design efforts, inspire engineering teams, and collaborate closely with product and engineering managers to achieve impactful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the vision for on-premises to cloud connectivity, application load balancing, and network & application security.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to solve critical customer challenges and develop innovative products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, accompanied by 6+ years of hands-on technical engineering experience in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • 6+ years of experience in developing cloud services, distributed systems, or network services.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must meet security screening requirements as mandated by Microsoft and relevant authorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with 10+ years of technical engineering experience, or a Master's Degree with 8+ years of experience in similar roles.
  • Expertise in designing network solutions, distributed systems, and large-scale cloud services.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with networking and application protocols such as BGP, BFD, TCP/UDP, TLS, HTTP, HTTPS, and QUIC.
  • Knowledge of networking technologies including IPsec, Layer 7 Proxy, Firewalls, and Web application protection.

Compensation: The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year, with variations based on specific locations.
