Responsibilities

As a Software Solutions Engineer for Growth Products at Workato, you will be instrumental in designing and developing innovative solutions that harness artificial intelligence to enhance automation and creativity. Your deep expertise in software engineering, combined with a passion for AI technologies, will propel the advancement of our GenAI Applications, built on Workato's core Enterprise Orchestration platform.

  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of Workato and create solutions that democratize AI, making it accessible and usable for both technical experts and business users.
  • Develop lightweight, top-tier applications in key functional areas to enrich our GenAI app marketplace.
  • Engage in cross-functional initiatives with product management, design, and other engineering teams.
  • Implement quality assurance practices, including automated testing, code reviews, and active involvement in debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with go-to-market teams, providing essential support during product launches.
RequirementsQualifications / Experience / Technical Skills
  • Demonstrated experience in developing GenAI-based bots/agents, with a portfolio showcasing past projects.
  • Hands-on experience with prompt engineering for leading Large Language Models (LLMs) such as OpenAI's GPT, Claude by Anthropic, and Gemini by Google, with the ability to rapidly prototype, iterate, and optimize GenAI applications being a significant advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams, working alongside designers, product managers, and fellow engineers.
  • 3-6 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Architect, or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in agile methodologies, embracing principles of adaptive planning, evolutionary development, early delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Expertise in scripting and coding, with a solid foundation in GenAI concepts; proficient in languages such as Ruby, Python, or Java.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of effective teamwork and clear communication of complex ideas.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science (MBA preferred).

For California applicants, the compensation for this role starts at $90,000, in addition to benefits, perks, and equity.
