Job Description

The Hotel Zamora, a luxurious boutique hotel, is seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Supervisor to lead staff in restaurant, banquet, and bar services. As a key member of the Sherman Associates team, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the hotel's food and beverage operations, supervising events and banquets, and contributing to the department's profitability and guest satisfaction scores.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality and Safety Standards: Monitor adherence to quality and safety standards, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the F&B manager and culinary team to provide efficient service, promoting teamwork within the Food and Beverage department and between other departments.
  • Crisis Management: Demonstrate the ability to handle sudden situations, such as staff or customer complaints, lack of inventory, and staff shortages.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise front-of-house associates, including staff direction, coaching, training, and evaluating.
  • Service Standards: Monitor the service of food and drinks to guests and customers, demonstrating knowledge of labor laws and health compliance regulations, customer satisfaction, and brand standards.
  • Daily Operations: Manage the daily activities of the food and beverage function, ensuring smooth operations and quality service.
  • Leadership: Rally the team during heavy shifts, resolve conflicts, and take initiative to get the job done.
  • Attention to Detail: Inspect equipment to determine repair or maintenance needs and cleanliness, ensuring a high level of quality and safety.
Requirements:
  • Leadership and Hospitality: Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifying excellent customer service and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environment.
  • Creativity and Attention to Detail: Having an eye for detail and creativity to develop the food and beverage experience.
  • Language Skills: Able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience: Requires 1 year of supervisory experience, preferably in a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, club, or service industry.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work long shifts for special events and large crowds.
  • Restaurant Management: Sound knowledge of restaurant management software.
  • Communication and Presentation: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with community partners, vendors, and internal divisions.
