Materials Control Supervisor

Role Summary:
The Materials Control Supervisor at M&M Quality Grinding Inc. is tasked with managing the complete inventory process of raw materials. This position requires the effective oversight of material supplies, distribution to various projects, strategic allocation, and the maintenance of precise inventory records within the Global Shop Support (GSS) system. The Supervisor will be pivotal in monitoring incoming materials and performing detailed inspections to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in inventory oversight, ideally within a manufacturing or grinding context.
- Strong analytical capabilities and adeptness in utilizing inventory management software.
- Exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Understanding of quality assurance processes and protocols.
- Familiarity with GSS or comparable inventory management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the identification and storage of raw materials essential for grinding operations.
- Distribute materials to designated jobs in alignment with production timelines.
- Allocate resources efficiently, taking into account job specifications and production priorities.
- Collaborate with the Production Team to ensure a smooth flow of materials.
- Maintain accurate and current inventory records in the Global Supply System (GSS).
- Regularly compare physical inventory with system data to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Generate analytical reports to provide insights into inventory trends and performance metrics.
- Supervise the inspection of all incoming materials to ensure adherence to quality standards and customer requirements.
- Engage with the Production Manager and Team to resolve any quality-related issues concerning incoming materials.
- Work collaboratively with the entire team to optimize processes and improve overall operational efficiency.
Physical Requirements:
This role may require the employee to walk, stand, sit, and use hands for handling materials. Frequent reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching may also be necessary. Proficiency in English is required for effective communication.
The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds or more with assistance as needed. The position may require standing for up to 95% of the time.
Work Environment:
The typical noise level in the workplace is moderate, with ear protection necessary for certain tasks. Closed-toed footwear and eye protection are mandatory on the shop floor.
