The Quality Control Associate role is a key position within Heidelberg Materials, responsible for ensuring the quality of aggregate products. This role is based in McCook, IL and reports directly to the Quality Control Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Perform quality control tests on aggregate products to ensure they meet company standards.
- Collaborate with production personnel to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of testing procedures and results.
- Prepare documentation for customers and contractors certifying product quality.
- Assist Plant Managers with various duties, including stockpile inventory assessment, scale clerk responsibilities, and office clerical work.
- Build and maintain relationships with plant employees and customers.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college or technical degree a plus.
- Solid computer skills and MS Excel experience preferred.
- Demonstrated basic math skills.
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers, contractors, agency personnel, and plant personnel.
- Ability to work overtime as needed, including flexible schedules and different shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping.
- Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping, squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements, use of wrists, use of feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods in same position, perform duties in all climates, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment.
- The role operates primarily in a lab environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites with varying conditions, including moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
