West Chester, Pennsylvania, United States GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation Full time
Job Overview

The position is part of the LEAP Services Team, focusing on the management and execution of LEAP Weibull analyses to support various operational aspects, including SPMT, fleet modeling, field challenges, warranty assessments, and strategic business initiatives. This role also encompasses responsibility for LEAP TOW, necessitating collaboration across multiple departments such as Services, MEF, Systems Fleet Stability, Digital Services, and Lifecycle Engineering to ensure accurate TOW and PRSV forecasts across all LEAP models (1A, 1B, and 1C).

Systems engineering is a multidisciplinary approach that integrates both business and technical requirements to deliver high-quality products that meet user expectations. This discipline involves a comprehensive process of design, development, and optimization of systems, which includes identifying and quantifying system requirements, exploring alternative design concepts, conducting design trade studies, selecting optimal designs, and ensuring proper integration and execution from concept through production to operation.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing departmental operations or focusing on professional activities within a specific technical domain. You will operate with a degree of autonomy while adhering to established policies and reviewing end results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Weibull analysis to assist with field issues, SPMT, fleet models, MEF models, and LEAP warranty and business strategies.
  • Provide expert consultation and mentorship to the LEAP engineering team regarding Weibull analyses.
  • Oversee LEAP TOW, which includes acting as the LEAP TOW bowler owner, updating Services and leadership, advising customer teams on time on wing, forecasting PRSV for the Services team, estimating removals, and directing inquiries to Digital Services while generating effective solutions for Engineering.
  • Facilitate component and product integration, managing activities that span multiple components and products to maximize performance and operability. Oversee product and system requirements, specifications, and flow-down processes. Drive validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system-level testing. Define product requirements for modules, components, subcontractors, and partner teams while managing interfaces between components and execution organizations.
  • Engage in direct people management responsibilities, including staffing and performance development. Utilize extensive knowledge of technical disciplines and analytical skills to implement policies and strategies.
  • Maintain awareness of best practices and how your area integrates with others; understand competitive factors that differentiate the organization in the market.
  • Exercise judgment and propose innovative solutions outside established parameters to address complex manufacturing processes with technical diversity and interdependent production cycles. Leverage technical experience and analytical thinking, utilizing multiple internal and limited external sources to inform decisions.
  • Act as a resource for less experienced colleagues, potentially leading small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Communicate information effectively; develop skills to foster consensus among team members on relevant topics. Set performance expectations and manage sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
Desired Attributes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.
  • Competence in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs.
  • Established project management capabilities.
