This discipline involves a thorough process of design, development, and enhancement of systems, which includes identifying and quantifying system specifications, generating alternative design concepts, conducting design trade studies, selecting and implementing optimal designs, and ensuring proper integration and execution of the design.
Position Responsibilities
Key Duties
- Primary responsibility involves the integration of the P20 propulsion system (engine, nacelle, and thrust reverser) with the airframe manufacturer. Currently, in the sustaining phase with over 300 engines operational, the G7500 airframe and engines are also being advanced to introduce the G8000, which will feature enhanced capabilities.
- Facilitate product enhancements between GE and Bombardier, serving as a liaison to ensure compliance with requirements for new designs, in both Part 25 and 33 domains.
- Manage priorities and work items among supply chain, P20 program, and design teams.
- Lead the resolution of field-related issues.
- Provide support to field service engineers stationed globally, primarily at the Bombardier final assembly line and finishing center.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of key business drivers; leverage this knowledge to achieve personal objectives.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of how the work of the team integrates with other teams and contributes to the overall area.
- Utilize sound judgment and the ability to propose alternative solutions within established parameters, with guidance.
- Apply prior experience and on-the-job training to address straightforward tasks.
- Access the technical skills and analytical thinking necessary to resolve issues.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering roles.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven capability to analyze and resolve challenges.
- Competence in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs.
- Established project management expertise.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to provide informal guidance to new team members.
