This discipline involves a comprehensive process of design, development, and enhancement of systems, which includes identifying and quantifying system needs, generating alternative design concepts, conducting design trade analyses, selecting and implementing optimal designs, and ensuring that the design is effectively integrated and executed.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Oversee the integration of the P20 propulsion system (engine, nacelle, and thrust reverser) with the airframe manufacturer. Currently in the support phase with over 300 engines operational, the G7500 airframe and engines are also being advanced to launch the G8000, which will feature enhanced capabilities.
- Facilitate product enhancements between GE and Bombardier, serving as a liaison to ensure compliance with requirements for new designs in both Part 25 and 33 domains.
- Coordinate priorities and tasks among supply chain, P20 program, and design teams.
- Lead the resolution of field-related issues.
- Support field service engineers stationed globally, primarily at the Bombardier final assembly line and finishing center.
- Possess a deep understanding of key business drivers; leverage this knowledge to achieve personal objectives.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of how the work of your team integrates with other teams and contributes to the overall area.
- Utilize sound judgment and the ability to propose alternative solutions within established parameters, with guidance.
- Apply prior experience and on-the-job training to address straightforward tasks.
- Access the technical skills and analytical thinking necessary to resolve issues.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering roles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to analyze and resolve technical challenges.
- Capability to document, plan, market, and execute projects effectively.
- Established skills in project management.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, capable of providing informal guidance to new team members.
