Job Summary:

The Patient Service Representative plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Register patients in a courteous and friendly manner, adhering to Ballad Health processes.
  • Update and schedule patient appointments, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Retrieve and manage daily patient data, including appointments and phone calls.
  • Maintain provider schedules, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care.
  • Perform data entry of office visit charges, collections of unpaid balances, and coding encounter forms with proper payment distribution CPT & ICD-10 codes.
  • Filing and refiling insurance claims, reconciling the charge sheet, and preparing bank deposits.
  • Counting the cash drawer, balancing credit cards, and reviewing and correcting errors on the missing ticket report.
  • Performing closing procedures to ensure proper account balance, referral and precertification, and preparing information for audit purposes.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; previous experience performing data entry and utilizing a database.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality/HIPAA and communicate respectfully/kindly with patients, office staff, nurses, and medical staff.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 codes/billing, previous experience utilizing Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
