Administrative Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant III to join our team at the Southern Oregon Education Service District. This is a full-time, 258-day position with a salary range of $17.71-$21.20 per hour, depending on experience.
About the Role:
As an Administrative Assistant III, you will be responsible for providing high-level administrative support to our program administrator and staff. Your duties will include preparing documents, maintaining records, processing purchase orders, and performing receptionist functions. You will also be responsible for coordinating workshops, designing brochures, and registering participants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare a wide range of documents, including letters, reports, and memos
• Compile and maintain statistical data, preparing reports as required
• Process purchase orders, expense reimbursement statements, and travel requests
• Perform receptionist functions, including screening calls and greeting visitors
• Sort, screen, and distribute correspondence in various formats
• Prepare and organize materials for meetings, arrange for food services, and compose minutes
• Coordinate workshops, design brochures, and register participants
• Establish, maintain, and update files, lists, records, and logs on computerized and manual record-keeping systems
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent, plus four years of progressively responsible secretarial experience
• Excellent communication skills to effectively represent policies and procedures to parents, students, employees, agencies, and the general public
• Ability to work independently, organize work with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines
• Proficient in using current office technology, including keyboard skills and elementary accounting
• Working knowledge of budgeting and bookkeeping practices and procedures
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods
