Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Outreach Peer Support Specialist to join our team at Options for Southern Oregon.

This role requires a self-identified individual with a history of receiving mental health services and strong grounding in their own recovery. The successful candidate will provide outreach and engagement activities to individuals with behavioral health needs, developing positive relationships and facilitating entry into needed treatment.

About the Position

The Mental Health Outreach Peer Support Specialist works primarily in the community, collaborating with Options personnel and community partners to engage clients in need of behavioral health services. Key responsibilities include utilizing excellent communication and interpersonal skills to make service access a positive experience, performing outreach activities such as program participation screening, providing education on services, and gathering relevant information from individuals.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include family medical, dental, long-term disability, 403(b) plan with 6% match, and more. A generous paid time off policy allows for annual accrual up to 208 hours, plus 11 paid holidays annually.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with some post-secondary coursework preferred.
  • Have a history of receiving mental health services and be well-grounded in one's own recovery, with at least a year since diagnosis preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills sufficient for establishing effective relationships with clients who have a mental illness.
  • Must be eligible to become certified as a Peer Support Specialist on the State registry and attend required trainings for certification when available.
