Part-Time Consideration: Equivalent to 4 full days

About the Role: The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Lead Environmental Chemist to contribute to our impactful scientific research. As part of our dedicated team, you will play a crucial role in addressing significant environmental challenges through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a substantial body of work that significantly advances river nutrient science
  • Lead author or key contributor to impactful publications and reports
  • Write and secure funding proposals to support ongoing research
  • Manage environmental research projects effectively
  • Oversee laboratory operations, including management of laboratory technicians
  • Engage in committees and panels to influence scientific direction

Qualifications:

  • PhD with post-doctoral experience or equivalent relevant experience
  • Degree (2:1 or higher) or Master's in Chemistry, Environmental, or Geographical Sciences
  • Proven experience in writing successful research proposals
  • Ability to interpret and model complex biogeochemical data
  • Experience in project management methodologies
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and writing abilities
  • Full UK (manual) driving license
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
