Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced engineer with a minimum of 15 years in the planning and design of river, stream, and floodplain restoration projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of ecologists, landscape architects, and scientists to deliver comprehensive solutions in complex ecological environments.

Key Responsibilities
The role involves:

  • Leading projects focused on habitat restoration and enhancement.
  • Conducting assessments and planning for watersheds and floodplains.
  • Implementing coastal habitat restoration initiatives.
  • Stabilizing riverbanks and developing flood control measures.
  • Providing engineering support for various surface water management projects.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A current professional engineer (PE) license in Washington or Oregon, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Extensive knowledge of permitting requirements in Washington State.
  • Experience in preparing design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • A Master's degree with a focus on aquatic ecosystem restoration.
  • Experience in fish passage analysis and construction management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
  • Familiarity with hydrologic analysis and modeling techniques.
