Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced engineer with a minimum of 15 years in the planning and design of river, stream, and floodplain restoration projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of ecologists, landscape architects, and scientists to deliver comprehensive solutions in complex ecological environments.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves:
- Leading projects focused on habitat restoration and enhancement.
- Conducting assessments and planning for watersheds and floodplains.
- Implementing coastal habitat restoration initiatives.
- Stabilizing riverbanks and developing flood control measures.
- Providing engineering support for various surface water management projects.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A current professional engineer (PE) license in Washington or Oregon, or the ability to obtain one.
- Extensive knowledge of permitting requirements in Washington State.
- Experience in preparing design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:
- A Master's degree with a focus on aquatic ecosystem restoration.
- Experience in fish passage analysis and construction management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and ArcGIS.
- Familiarity with hydrologic analysis and modeling techniques.
