Position Overview

We are in search of a Consultant Relations Associate to become a vital part of our Client Management Americas Consultant Relations Group (CRG). This team is focused on nurturing relationships with global investment consultants. As an Associate, your primary role will be to assist the relationship management team, collaborating closely with various internal departments to provide timely insights on PIMCO's investment offerings and capabilities. Additional responsibilities will include preparing for meetings, drafting briefing documents, managing workflows, and creating presentation materials. A successful Associate will exhibit entrepreneurial spirit, proactive problem-solving abilities, and outstanding communication skills.

Responsibilities

This role demands an analytical, client-focused professional who can:
  • Understand the needs of our consultants and consistently provide relevant market insights, product information, investment strategies, and sales support.
  • Engage in substantial consultant interactions through various channels to ensure timely responses and maintain PIMCO's presence.
  • Gain knowledge of focus products and assist in the search process by collaborating with Product Strategy, Compliance, Legal, Channel Account Managers, and other teams.
  • Contribute to team dynamics by participating in meetings, engaging with colleagues across different PIMCO functions, leading working groups, sharing best practices, and fully utilizing ongoing coaching and training.
Position Requirements
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business/Finance, Economics, or Accounting. Progress toward the CFA designation, Series Exams, or an advanced degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum overall GPA of 3.2.
  • 2-4 years of experience in financial services, asset management, investment banking, investment consulting, or accounting.
  • A strong background and/or interest in fixed income and economics is essential. Ideal candidates will be familiar with fixed income instruments and the economic principles underlying the fixed income asset class.
  • A fundamental understanding of investment strategies combined with a strong desire to deepen knowledge.
  • Intermediate skills in Excel and PowerPoint; ability to utilize macros, query tools, CRM systems, proprietary attribution and performance systems, and external databases to automate and streamline tasks.
  • A strong client service orientation and a sense of urgency in responding to requests.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills to ensure quality and attention to detail; commitment to completing all tasks accurately and on time.
  • Foster a sense of teamwork, assisting colleagues as needed.
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced, and professional environment with frequent changes in priorities.

PIMCO employs a comprehensive compensation strategy that includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. The base salary is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus rewards performance based on company, business, team, and individual achievements.
