Position Overview
The Branch Loan Officer plays a vital role in assisting members and prospective members with their financial requirements. This position involves opening new accounts, processing transactions, resolving issues, and providing valuable information regarding our products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitates the opening and closing of accounts, addresses inquiries about products and services, and resolves issues within their scope of authority. For matters beyond their authority, they will refer to their supervisor with recommendations.
  • Handles all aspects of consumer loans, including promoting services, quoting rates, utilizing lending software, and finalizing loan agreements.
  • Identifies opportunities for cross-selling and effectively promotes additional services to members.
  • Maintains accurate records and prepares necessary reports.
  • Conducts audits of system information and member documentation.
  • Acts as a liaison between members and various departments.
  • Represents the branch in its interactions with members, partner organizations, business associates, and other financial institutions.
  • Performs additional job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Metrics
  • Accurately opens all accounts, certificates, loans, and other credit union products or services, ensuring timely completion of all related documentation.
  • Proactively cross-sells products and services to meet or exceed established sales targets and contribute to corporate objectives.
  • Addresses and resolves member and internal inquiries promptly and accurately.
  • Ensures adherence to all relevant credit union policies and procedures.
  • Maintains Quality Loop scores within the branch at 6.7 or higher.
Qualifications

Experience: A minimum of 6 months in New Accounts.

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Interpersonal Skills: This role involves significant personal interaction, requiring the ability to motivate, influence, and train others. Building strong relationships with external contacts is essential, often necessitating the ability to persuade or sell ideas and services.

Additional Skills: Proficiency in various computer applications for information retrieval and data entry is required. Strong public interaction and telephone communication skills are essential. Good judgment is necessary for resolving member issues and offering additional services. Familiarity with all policies and procedures related to teller and new account functions is expected, along with comprehensive knowledge of all services provided by the credit union. Experience in handling share certificates and IRA accounts is also required. Flexibility to adapt job functions based on member traffic is important.

Physical Requirements: Light lifting may be necessary.
