Overview

The Mortgage Banker is tasked with building and nurturing connections with Renasant Bank Branch Managers, Realtors, and Builders within a specified service area to drive the production of various residential loan products, including conforming, conventional, FHA, and VA loans, along with other offerings as they emerge. This role acts as the key facilitator in the mortgage loan process while ensuring a collaborative relationship with the mortgage operations team.



Key Responsibilities

  • Originate a variety of 1-4 family residential loans.
  • Set and maintain written objectives in partnership with the Mortgage Banking Department.
  • Coordinate loan production across the designated service area.
  • Keep an updated status report on all loan applications in progress.
  • Provide monthly reports on outreach efforts to banks, realtors, and builders.
  • Engage with the Mortgage Banking department to clarify program updates for branch personnel.
  • Advise potential borrowers on suitable loan products based on their needs.
  • Arrange meetings to assist customers in completing loan applications at their convenience.
  • Collect necessary documentation for mortgage closings promptly and maintain a comprehensive status report of all loans.
  • Support customers in resolving closing contingencies.
  • Prepare Good Faith Estimates and Truth-In-Lending disclosures within 72 hours of application submission.
  • Deliver weekly updates to realtors on the status of their clients' loans.
  • Educate branch staff on conforming loan requirements and address customer inquiries effectively.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the local real estate community, regularly updating them on available programs.
  • Conduct market surveys to stay informed about local trends.
  • Identify priority accounts (such as realtors and builders) and ensure regular visits.
  • Host seminars for local realtors and new associates covering various lending topics.
  • Engage actively in local organizations related to mortgage loan production.
  • Adhere to all relevant state and federal regulations as well as internal policies.
  • Participate in production meetings as directed by management.
  • Maintain necessary licenses and certifications.
  • Work independently in an outside sales capacity, requiring reliable transportation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proven ability to originate 1-4 family residential mortgage products.
  • Comprehensive understanding of FHLMC/FNMA, FHA, VA, and general mortgage banking procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a friendly demeanor towards the public.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand regulatory directives and procedures.
  • Professional representation of Renasant Bank, embodying the principles of "Customer Focused Banking."
  • Capability to work autonomously and make informed decisions in compliance with regulations.
  • Access to reliable transportation for fulfilling job responsibilities.
