Aerospace Engineering Leadership Position for New Shepard Operations

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead our New Shepard Operations team. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for the overall direction and strategy of our operations, including electrical, fluids, structural, mechanical, and sustaining engineering for the fielded vehicle fleet of New Shepard human spaceflight vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Functional management of a team consisting of a broad range of engineering disciplines including electrical, fluids, propulsion, ordnance, software, structural, mechanical, sustaining and spaceflight operations support engineers.
- Establish an outstanding functional matrix organization that supports Flight Operations, Maintenance and Sustainment of the New Shepard fleet
- Recruit, mentor and develop top engineering talent and leadership
- Responsible for implementing design and engineering standards used by the operations and sustainment team
- Responsible for training and certification of engineering staff for their roles
- Develop critical skill matrices and perform multi-year workforce planning
- Work with the engineering organizations across Blue Origin to continually improve New Shepard engineering tools and processes, and to support the growth of Blue Origin engineering capabilities.
Requirements:
- B.S. in engineering field
- 15+ years of experience in aerospace development (launch vehicles or aircraft)
- Direct personnel management experience of a multi-disciplinary engineering team of at least 25 people
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams on large and complex technical projects, including managing within budget constraints and schedule deadlines
- Excellent systems engineering and configuration management skills over the entire lifecycle of an aerospace product from concept development through certification and into operations and production
Compensation:
The estimated salary for this position is between $198,908.25 and $278,471.55 per year, depending on location. Compensation ranges may vary based on site locations.
