Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in planning, developing, and executing seasonal menus that showcase local, sustainable ingredients. The Sous Chef will also oversee food preparation during service, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all orders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning: Assist the Executive Chef in creating seasonal menus that highlight local, sustainable ingredients.
  • Kitchen Management: Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff activities, ensuring that all dishes are prepared according to the restaurant's standards of quality and presentation.
  • Food Preparation: Oversee food preparation during service, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all orders.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory and assist in sourcing ingredients from local farmers and suppliers.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Staff Development: Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff to maintain a high level of performance and teamwork.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a farm-to-table or fine dining setting.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in a leadership role, such as Sous Chef or Lead Line Cook.
  • Cooking Techniques: Strong understanding of cooking techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen operations.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Passion: A passion for using fresh, seasonal ingredients and creating innovative, high-quality dishes.
  • Communication: Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage kitchen staff.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
