Region V Services is in search of two skilled professionals to fill the role of Community Engagement Supervisor.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Community Engagement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, management, and training of personnel dedicated to enhancing the health and quality of life for individuals in our care. This role is crucial in ensuring that all team members promote personal achievements and foster meaningful relationships for those receiving support, while also aiding them in expanding their social roles within the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate sound judgment in assessing situations and making decisions that prioritize individual safety and confidentiality.
  • Employ effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Conduct interviews for potential contractors and assist in placement decisions.
  • Facilitate and/or coordinate training to ensure consistency in service delivery and to enhance staff competency and professional image.
  • Actively participate in the Individual Support Plan (ISP) process.
  • Coordinate and oversee skills training for individuals to promote greater integration and independence in various settings, ensuring opportunities for a fulfilling daily experience.
  • Ensure that individual goals, tailored to personal needs and outcomes, are developed, executed, and monitored in accordance with ISP teams.
  • Supervise documentation processes to guarantee accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Proficiently utilize personal computers and relevant software applications.
  • Ensure that written programs meet state requirements and align with ISP guidelines.
  • Provide essential support to contractors to foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities to enhance job performance.
  • Offer insights and feedback to the Behavioral Support Department to aid in the development of behavioral interventions and program ethics reports based on individual needs.
  • Be available for on-call duties to assist contractors with various issues, including medical and behavioral emergencies.
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians, Service Coordinators, Medical Services Associates, and others to coordinate individualized services.
  • Organize and oversee internal quality reviews and participate in internal investigations as necessary.
  • Coordinate activities with regulatory bodies and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement disciplinary actions as required for contractors.
  • Schedule coverage to meet intervention hours and habilitative needs.
  • Provide immediate guidance and necessary approvals for actions, purchases, and plans to ensure smooth agency operations.
  • Follow up on safety committee recommendations.
  • Contribute data and assist in fiscal and administrative planning as part of the agency's management team.
  • Fill in for direct line staff when substitutes are unavailable.
  • Review and approve timecards, attendance records, and other assigned reports.
  • Supervise volunteers as needed.
  • Clarify policies and procedures to contractors to enhance safety, communication, and service quality.
  • Recommend procurement of facilities and equipment as necessary.
  • Manage and monitor individuals' personal finances.
  • Participate in regional committees as assigned.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular meetings.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks or contact appropriate personnel for repairs.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Extensive knowledge of evaluation and instructional techniques for individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to train and supervise staff, exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations, and maintain detailed records.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of assessment and data collection methods related to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Physical lifting may be required at service locations; adaptive equipment must be utilized when available.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in human services or a related field, along with two years of experience in Human Services.
  • Alternatively, six years of experience in Human Services may substitute for a bachelor's degree.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a combination of relevant experience and a college degree.

Special Requirements :

  • A valid driver's license in the state of Nebraska or other reliable transportation.
  • Availability for on-call duties to respond to area program emergencies.
  • A reliable means of communication (e.g., telephone, cell phone).
  • Subject to criminal history background checks and may be required to undergo drug and alcohol screening.
