POSITION SUMMARY

The Social Worker will play a crucial role in supporting the Home Study (HS) and Post Release Services (PRS) department. This position is remote and requires local state travel.

COMPENSATION

This role offers a hiring bonus of $3,000.00, with a starting salary of $70,000.00, subject to adjustments based on experience, education, and cost of living.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver culturally and linguistically appropriate clinical case management services to unaccompanied children (UC) with significant needs.
  • Manage a caseload of 8 to 10 EPRS cases.
  • Conduct brief clinical interventions to assist families in crisis and conflict resolution.
  • Perform individualized needs assessments with UC and sponsors, developing case plans that consider cultural, linguistic, and unique circumstances.
  • Maintain meticulous records in accordance with USCRI and ORR policies and procedures.
  • Provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure each child receives necessary services.
  • Continuously assess the safety and suitability of placements using child welfare principles and best practices in social work through various communication methods.
  • Establish a network of local pro bono legal resources and service providers to enhance access for UC and sponsors, tracking individual progress.
  • Facilitate communication with key stakeholders.
  • Engage in regular training and communication sessions with supervisors and headquarters staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related behavioral science; at least three years of progressive experience is preferred, along with graduate-level licensure (LMSW/LGSW); or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of clinical experience.
  • At least one year of direct clinical experience is required.
  • Preferred experience in child welfare, family preservation, behavioral health counseling, and social service provision.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed service delivery and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Strong writing skills for professional assessment reports are essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of local resources for immigrant communities is required.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • A valid driver's license, insurance, a clean driving record, and personal transportation are necessary.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50 percent with limited notice.
  • A suitable remote workspace for documentation, client calls, and video conferencing is required.
  • Fluency in Spanish is mandatory; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
  • Commitment to comply with mandatory state reporting requirements for child abuse and neglect is essential.
  • Dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced individuals is crucial.
  • Passing a criminal background check, including checks for child and sexual abuse convictions, is required.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and basic first aid certification.
  • Demonstrated support of USCRI's values, including respect for others, confidentiality, and appreciation for a multicultural workplace.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
  • Successful completion of USCRI's Orientation and Training.
  • Completion of ORR-required trainings prior to client service and annually thereafter.
  • Participation in additional training as identified by supervisors or Human Resources.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and auditory acuity are necessary.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, and sustain prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying may be required.
  • Basic quantitative/mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements) are necessary.
