POSITION SUMMARY

The Social Worker will play a crucial role in the Home Study (HS) and Post Release Services (PRS) department. This remote position requires occasional local travel.

COMPENSATION

This role includes a hiring bonus and a competitive salary, which may vary based on experience and qualifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver culturally sensitive clinical case management services to unaccompanied children (UC) with significant needs.
  • Manage a caseload of 8 to 10 EPRS cases.
  • Conduct brief clinical interventions to assist families in crisis and conflict resolution.
  • Perform individualized needs assessments with UC and sponsors, creating tailored case plans that consider cultural and linguistic factors.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with USCRI and ORR policies.
  • Provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure children receive necessary services.
  • Continuously assess the safety and suitability of placements using child welfare principles and best practices.
  • Establish a network of local pro bono legal resources and service providers to enhance access for UC and sponsors.
  • Facilitate communication with key stakeholders.
  • Engage in regular training and communication with supervisors and headquarters staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field; or a Bachelor's degree with significant clinical experience.
  • Minimum of one year of direct clinical experience required.
  • Preferred experience in child welfare, family preservation, and social service provision.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Strong writing skills for professional assessment reports.
  • Extensive knowledge of local resources for immigrant communities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Fluency in Spanish is mandatory; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
  • Commitment to human rights for refugees and immigrants is essential.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of USCRI's Orientation and Training.
  • Completion of ORR required trainings prior to client engagement and annually thereafter.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to perform manual dexterity tasks and maintain focus for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting and physical activity may be required.
