Job Overview

Position Summary: Painters Supply and Equipment Co. is seeking a dedicated Store Manager to oversee and enhance the customer experience in the Paint, Body, and Equipment (PBE) and Industrial Coatings sectors. This role involves effectively managing all operational facets of the retail outlet, including staff, clientele, inventory, and facility oversight. Collaboration with the Regional Manager and Operations Team is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Store Management
  • Oversee daily cash management and ensure timely bank deposits.
  • Monitor and analyze operational data to enhance performance.
  • Address and resolve overdue accounts.
  • Optimize delivery schedules for maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Review financial reports, including Profit & Loss and Inventory Reports.
  • Manage maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the store and equipment.
  • Supervise staff to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Control operational expenses within budget and maintain accurate records.
Sales and Customer Engagement
  • Process sales transactions in accordance with company protocols.
  • Provide professional telephone support, addressing inquiries and processing orders.
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate products.
  • Restock merchandise and maintain store displays.
  • Keep detailed records of special orders and customer requests.
  • Support Outside Sales Representatives as needed.
  • Respond promptly to customer feedback and complaints.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service in all interactions.
Inventory Control
  • Match invoices with receiving documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Understand inventory systems and manage stock levels effectively.
  • Coordinate inventory replenishment processes.
  • Implement stock rotation to prevent obsolescence.
  • Provide customers with information on both existing and new products.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory checks.
Personnel Management
  • Train and develop staff using company training resources.
  • Recruit and onboard new team members as necessary.
  • Assess staffing needs and create employee schedules.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for team members.
Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement security measures for store operations.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and mix paint orders as required.
  • Facilitate product deliveries while maintaining service quality.
  • Manage loading and unloading of merchandise.
  • Assist with periodic inventory assessments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry weights ranging from 25 to 100 lbs.
  • Flexibility to engage in various physical activities, including standing, walking, and climbing.
  • Capability to operate necessary equipment safely.

Training and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven management experience with a focus on sales and expense control.
  • Knowledge of product technology and application preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
