Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Personnel Supervisor II, the Personnel Supervisor I is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Transactions Section, which performs activities that support the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration's (CDTFA) personnel transactions programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, train, and guide a team of 4-6 Personnel Specialists (PS) to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Transactions Section.
  • Direct, plan, organize, prioritize, assign, monitor, and review staff workload to meet the needs of the CDTFA.
  • Act as a liaison with control agencies, apply, and interpret Government Code Provisions, collective bargaining agreements, and directives from control agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
Working Conditions:
  • Position is located in a high-rise building.
  • Telework is available fifty percent (50%) of the time.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods of time.
  • Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone.
Special Requirements:

Benefits:
  • Eligible for an annual recruitment and retention bonus of $2,400 to $4,800 with the completion of the required qualifying pay periods.
