About the Role

The Senior Director of Customer Logistics will be responsible for leading the financial and operational aspects of our customer logistics operations. This includes profit and loss responsibility, sales and account growth, and ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior management at our customer's organization, representing Ryder in customer meetings and presentations to drive retention and growth.
  • Support the sales process by participating in business development opportunities with new customers and developing complete logistics solutions.
  • Manage the operation to ensure goals are achieved, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the effective selection, placement, development, and retention of talent to meet current and future business needs.
  • Forecast, plan, manage, and ensure locations meet defined financial targets, developing and implementing mitigation plans as required.
  • Monitor and hold operations accountable for maintaining a safety culture that meets or exceeds annual safety targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or related field, or an additional two years of related experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Ten years or more of logistics/supply chain experience in multiple locations, plants, warehouses, locations, transportation hubs, etc.
  • Five years or more of demonstrated experience developing and implementing complete logistics solutions and project management skills.
  • Five years or more of P&L responsibility, including forecasting and managing financial targets.
  • Six years or more of managing, leading, and developing direct reports.
  • Six years or more of managing large multi-level teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five years or more of prior experience implementing a LEAN work environment.
  • Four years or more of managing customer relationships and interaction.
  • Four years or more of managing customer KPIs.
  • Three years or more of experience providing customer and senior-level management presentations.
  • Some sales experience preferred.
