Position Overview

HOMELAND LLC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Industrial Refrigeration to lead our engineering initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of various projects within our manufacturing environment. Candidates should possess a robust background in refrigeration, electrical, and controls engineering, along with a commitment to innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit and facilitate training for engineering personnel as required.
  • Oversee and manage the workflow and schedules of engineering staff.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance assessments.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to enhance team skills and job satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and ISO 9001 operational standards.
  • Collaborate with HR on employee disciplinary actions in line with company policies.
  • Supervise daily operations of engineering teams, including remote staff.
  • Offer leadership and strategic direction to engineering groups.
  • Review and validate mechanical, electrical, and control designs as necessary.
  • Foster industry relationships to anticipate client needs and propose engineering solutions.
  • Establish departmental efficiency objectives to optimize costs and enhance productivity.
  • Represent the organization at industry events and conferences.
  • Coordinate efforts with manufacturers, contractors, and clients to develop superior products and address challenges.
  • Assist in the design and improvement of equipment and systems as required.
  • Travel as needed for technical assessments with clients or suppliers.
  • Develop innovative solutions to operational challenges within the organization.
  • Collaborate with management to set and evaluate priorities across various teams.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in the design, development, and maintenance of industrial refrigeration systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, industrial, controls, and electrical engineering principles.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 10 years in the industrial refrigeration or compressed gas compressor sector.
  • Preferred supervisory experience of at least five (5) years.
  • Strong familiarity with ERP systems, preferably with Epicor.
  • Proficient in Allen Bradley Programming Software (ControlLogix, CompactLogix).
  • Experience with AUTOCAD for mechanical and electrical design.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software for budget preparation and record-keeping.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
