Senior Automotive Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Automotive Technician to join our team at Sun Auto Service Houston. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for ensuring that repairs are performed correctly and efficiently by qualified technicians, and that the service department maintains a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair complex automotive issues, including alignments, brake repair, oil changes, batteries, shocks and struts, belts and hoses, and air conditioning.
- Perform work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
- Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including store managers, service consultants, and customers.
- Recommend services necessary to keep customers' vehicles in running condition, and properly document all recommendations in customer files.
- Follow all safety procedures and report any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
- Maintain appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of automotive technician/mechanic experience.
- Ability to demonstrate the use of computerized equipment for diagnostics.
- Valid/current driver's license.
- Current ASE certification preferred.
- Ability to work a minimum of five days, including Saturdays.
The Senior Automotive Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on the ambient temperatures outside.
The Senior Automotive Technician must be able to meet the following physical requirements:
- Stand five hours per day and be able to walk to gain access to various areas of the building.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly up to 10 hours per day; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and be able to feel, handle, or finger objects frequently.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Hear and speak.
- Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus.
