Job Summary

CNPC USA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the development of innovative downhole electronics and wireless communication solutions for our drilling tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Development: Design and develop high-temperature electronics for downhole drilling products, including logging while drilling tools, rotary steerable tools, and downhole wireless communication systems.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure the successful development and implementation of new products and technologies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless product development and deployment.
  • Research and Development: Conduct research and development to identify new technologies and innovations that can be applied to our downhole electronics and wireless communication products.
  • Testing and Validation: Develop and execute testing and validation plans to ensure that products meet or exceed customer requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in downhole electronics and wireless communication development.
  • Skills: Proven expertise in power electronics, digital/analog circuit design, and embedded systems. Proficient in C/C++/Basic/Fortran/Assembly/FPGA programming.
Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment and may require occasional visits to shop environments. The employee is regularly exposed to vibration and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear and is occasionally required to lift 20lbs and bend.

Travel

This position may require international and domestic travel. Local travel between CNPC USA locations and testing facilities is required.
