Job Summary:

Under the guidance of the Associate Director of Practice Enhancement for inpatient services, the Area Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of medical scribes at designated client hospitals.

This role encompasses site support and client engagement; management of personnel, performance evaluations, onboarding and credentialing; recruitment and staffing; continuous education and departmental initiatives.


Qualifications:

Essential:
Bachelor's Degree
2-5 Years of experience in the Hospital or Healthcare sector
Proven advanced leadership capabilities as demonstrated through professional or academic experience
Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time
Familiarity with EPIC and Cerner EMRs
Understanding of documentation practices for Emergency and Hospitalist Medicine

Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Desirable:
Exceptional management, organizational, facilitation, and planning abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective presentation capabilities
Excellent interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach
Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team

Work Schedule Requirements:
Full Time

Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend availability
Standard hours from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with potential off-hours as needed

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily operations of Medical Scribes at assigned client hospitals
Establish robust business relationships with internal clients, including Site Medical Directors and APP leadership
Comprehend the Medical Scribe workflow and processes at each site, providing recommendations to enhance productivity and effectiveness
Oversee the implementation of Medical Scribes during new contract launches and support EMR integrations
Manage Medical Scribe personnel within the designated region
Review and authorize monthly schedules to ensure adequate coverage and equitable shift distribution
Approve time accounting records prior to biweekly payroll submissions
Monitor attendance and PTO accruals, and authorize time-off requests
Conduct performance evaluations and annual appraisals
Track trainee progress through successful completion of training phases
Participate in recruitment for open positions and make hiring decisions based on staffing needs
Manage onboarding processes for all staff in the region in line with company and client standards
Ensure compliance with ongoing requirements (e.g., training, health checks) for all staff
Assist in developing ongoing educational content and ensure completion of training modules
Fulfill Medical Scribe Supervisor duties as necessary
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director
