About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions to join our team at News Corp. As a key member of our corporate development team, you will play a crucial role in executing our growth strategy through identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and integrating acquisitions.

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Strategy, you will manage a team of people as well as complex projects. You will work closely with internal teams and external advisors to ensure thorough evaluation of potential targets and lead negotiations with target companies.

As a strategic growth leader, you will be responsible for defining and refining our B2B inorganic growth strategy, identifying target markets and companies that align with our strategic objectives. You will also oversee and coordinate comprehensive due diligence processes and own integration planning and execution.

We are looking for a seasoned executive with a proven track record in M&A, strong leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset. You will work in our midtown Manhattan office 5 days a week with flexibility as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Define and refine our B2B inorganic growth strategy, identifying target markets and companies that align with our strategic objectives.
  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and prioritization of potential acquisition targets, conducting market research and financial analysis to assess strategic fit and value.
  • Oversee and coordinate comprehensive due diligence processes, working closely with internal teams and external advisors to ensure thorough evaluation of potential targets.
  • Lead negotiations with target companies, structuring deals and managing the transaction process from initial contact through closing.
  • Own integration planning and execution, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with our operational and strategic goals.
  • Manage and mentor the M&A team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, board members, and advisors, providing regular updates on M&A activities and progress.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with M&A transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
  • Drive the development and implementation of best practices and processes within the M&A function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in M&A, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience within a strategic corporate environment is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and executing complex B2B M&A transactions.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with experience assessing and valuing potential acquisition targets.
  • Excellent negotiation and deal structuring capabilities.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with experience influencing and building relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with a strong understanding of industry trends and market dynamics.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information.
