Job Summary:

The Senior Quality Assurance Technician is accountable for executing all responsibilities of the Quality Operator and Quality Senior Operator roles while also directing and coordinating the activities of others in the area. The Quality Lead plays a crucial role in the team, conducting tests on product batches and making necessary adjustments to ensure adherence to customer specifications and quality standards. This position also involves testing incoming raw materials and maintaining Certificates of Analysis (COA) from suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct standard tests on assigned production batches and incoming raw materials as required, ensuring compliance with Avient and customer specifications.

• Serve as a technical resource for production, addressing issues related to production batches.

• Recommend and potentially develop adjustments to batches to meet specifications.

• Document test results in SAP and maintain reference files.

• Complete and manage all necessary paperwork, records, and documentation.

• Verify all gauges and testing equipment.

• Participate in investigations of complaints and corrective actions as needed.

• Adhere to all safety and work regulations, maintaining departmental housekeeping standards.

• Prepare and send documentation to customers (e.g., COA).

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Technical school degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance/Control.

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Strong quantitative and statistical skills.
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions in English, including safety rules, operating procedures, and product specifications.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic operations using units of weight, volume, and distance.
  • Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Manual dexterity to operate various small hand tools and machinery.
  • Ability to quickly learn the operation and setup of industrial machinery according to procedures.
